We made it through yet another pump refill! Dakota did the best that he probably ever has in the five years that he has had it! I think it really helped meeting with the Spasticity Team prior to the refill. They got him relaxed and having fun! (we were an hour late for our appointment, which is why we saw the Spasticity Team first, all because of getting rear ended on our way up to Primary Children's. aka......the suburban got rear ended. Nobody was hurt, it just brought back some bad memories of almost exactly one year ago when we got in our other car wreck.)
Boys playing in the waiting room! Good thing nobody else was in there!
Dakota trying to stretch as far as he can.
Dakota programming his pump. These guys are all so good to him!
The nurse sterilizing his pump.
Needle inserted.....and he didn't even flinch! Which is a miracle. A lot of times it will take 3 to 4 nurses or doctors holding him down to get it inserted. It has to go in at an exact location, meaning he has to hold EXTREMELY still! I was so proud of him for how good he did.
This is him injecting the NEW medication after they withdrew any
OLD medicine from the pump.
Bridger and Nash watching.
Oh, if only that's how they were the entire time......
in my wildest dreams.

After his refill and full evalutation, they were quite impressed of how far he has come since his last assessment. We just need to keep him physically active and stretching like crazy, which they say is what is going to help gim dramatically in the years to come!!! So.....until December....for the next pump refill!
